BasePoint Academy LLC is a mental health treatment center provider based in Forney, Texas with a second location in Arlington, Texas and third location in McKinney, Texas. BasePoint Academy operates as a clinic/center with a focus on adolescent and children’s mental health. We specialize in outpatient treatment for teens aged 11-18 struggling with mental health and substance abuse.

Our Story
BasePoint Academy was founded by the Serpa Family in connection with Dr. Kimberly Dobbins in 2021. It was born of their own personal tragedy after losing their young daughter Brittney to suicide due to poor mental health treatment and a misdiagnosis.
They personally suffered through the gap in the behavioral health system in Texas and fielded countless cries for help from those experiencing related family struggles. Together with Dr. Dobbins, the Serpas set out to ensure no one else would have the same experience.
Their story is the baseline for how we operate every facet of the BasePoint Academy process, from recruiting and program development to employee development and patient care. Access to quality, innovative mental health and substance abuse care should be easy and effective, not buried in ambivalent care and month-long waiting lists.

With servant leadership models and patient recovery-focused care, BPA’s partial hospitalization program and Dallas intensive outpatient program are a partner to families, patients, and providers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
