Joshua Wang, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Wang, MD is a double board-certified psychiatrist for general as well as child & adolescent psychiatry.  He received his medical degree from Wuhan University School of Medicine in Wuhan, China, and his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Peking Union Medical College and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China. He completed his general psychiatry residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Wang is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry.

Before joining BasePoint, Dr. Wang worked as an attending psychiatrist in Dallas for more than a decade caring  for a complex population of psychiatric patients with a broad spectrum of age and psychiatric disorders in different settings including in-patient unit, PHP/IOP, and outpatient clinics. 

Dr. Wang dedicates himself not only to providing individualized psychotropic medication management for certain individuals with unique psychosocial conditions, but also to promoting a more comprehensive approach to support his patients and their families in making real changes to improve the quality of their life with a strong belief that everyone deserves a good life with happiness, dignity and integrity.

Outside of his work, Dr. Wang serves his local church and community as a local church leader, Sunday school teacher, and community volunteer etc. 

Dr. Wang lives a happy life with his wife and two adult children, loves cooking, reading, running, playing tennis, and traveling as well.
