Mark Gerges, M.D.

Mark M. Gerges, MD earned his bachelor’s degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology from Florida A&M University. After obtaining a Medical Degree from Spartan Health Services University, he went on to complete his training in several South Florida teaching hospitals.

Dr. Gerges became involved in the chemical dependency and mental health field of medicine after years of treating post-surgical patients who became dependent on prescription medications. Years ago, Doctors had little understanding of alternate non-narcotic modalities for treating pain and would sadly prescribe more narcotics which would often times, ultimately lead to addiction and decline in a patients mental health

Dr. Gerges is an industry expert in the field of mental health chemical dependency. He has co-published numerous articles, presented at multiple conferences, and continues to set the bar for patient care standards. Dr. Gerges oversees the Utilization Review, Billing & Collections, Credentialing department as well as the medical departments at BasePoint Academy. His knowledge has helped successfully initiate, negotiate, and contract with the largest of commercial insurance carriers.
