Treating Teen Substance Use: Dual Diagnosis Treatment For Teens
According to a recent survey by the SAMHSA on adolescent health and drug use, over 8% of U.S. teens consumed alcohol within the last month, and over 13% of ages 12 to 17 used illicit substances within the last year.[1]
Cannabis use in teens ranges from 8% to 20% from 8th graders to 12th graders, respectively, having consumed cannabis in the past year. These numbers come in just behind alcohol use which ranges from 15% of 8th graders and 51% of 12th graders report drinking alcohol in the last year.[2]
Our teen-centered treatment programs are specifically designed to address teen age-appropriate interventions for teen depression administered by providers who are specifically trained in adolescent mental health.
Personalized Treatment Plans
After an initial consultation, each teen will undergo a detailed and comprehensive assessment. Based on this data, we will design an individualized treatment plan based on their unique needs.

The BasePoint Academy Resiliency Program
Teens are not always naturally aware of how to bounce back from adversity. When faced with family, life, academic, or social
stressors, they can fall back on unhealthy thoughts, behaviors, and habits. Developing resiliency activates the innate capacity to heal and overcome challenges.

Elizabeth HembyThey have an exceptional team and program. I worked with their Director of Interventional Psychiatry, Dr. Rita McCallan, at another facility. She is a caring and compassionate provider. She’s an excellent addition to their executive team. Their teen outpatient program provides top notch behavioral health services while tending to their education needs. Another aspect of this program I really like is that the Medical Director, Dr. Kimberly Robbins, is on site and specifically there to meet the medical needs of the teens.
