Karlos Lyons, LPC

Karlos Lyons is the Interim Executive Director for BasePoint Academy-Forney. He brings experience working in the traditional outpatient setting within the behavioral health sphere of care of PHP and IOP programming. During his career, Karlos has served as a primary therapist and Assistant Clinical Director before assuming the Interim Executive Director role, gaining both clinical and managerial experience at BasePoint.  As a licensed professional counselor, Karlos’ niche includes adolescents, behavioral health treatment, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, men’s issues, BlPOC mental health, addictions, multicultural counseling, identity, anxiety, stress management, and faith-based counseling. He also integrates counseling modalities such as Person-Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. Prior to graduating with his Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, Karlos received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Marketing from Belhaven University. Karlos is proud to be a part of the BasePoint difference and is passionate about the therapeutic process, open communication, and support to the clinical team members.

In his free time, Karlos enjoys eating new cuisine, traveling, and learning Spanish.
