Dr. Shubhada Reddy​, M.D.

Dr. Reddy is the Medical Director for BasePoint Academy in Arlington, TX.

Prior to coming to BasePoint Academy, Dr. Reddy practiced telepsychiatry through MindCare Solutions for those in North, Central and South Texas. While she received her training, Dr. Reddy worked at Children’s Health in Dallas and Plano where she treated patients with an array of psychiatric disorders including mood disorders, substance use, suicidal behaviors, psychosis, and many more.

With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the mental health realm, Dr. Reddy’s patience and understanding provide her with the valuable skills to safely and confidently treat complex cases within the outpatient setting.

Prior to completing her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Reddy completed training at The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria for her General Adult Psychiatry Residency. Dr. Reddy brings the unique experience she gained during medical school, where she provided healthcare screenings to underserved villages in Dominica while graduating with honors from Ross University School of Medicine. Before deciding she wanted to go into psychiatry, Dr. Reddy attended The University of Texas at Austin where she double majored in Studio Art and Art History for her undergraduate degree. Her interest in art aligned with her passion for psychiatry because as she puts it, working with mental health and psychiatry is like looking for beauty in the gray area.

As a member of the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. Reddy is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to her patients. Dr. Reddy has completed research in and is very passionate about bridging cultural barriers and targeting stigma in seeking mental health services.

In her free time, Dr. Reddy enjoys painting, drawing, cooking or reading.
